History

The Eckhart Interior Design Group was founded in 1842 by the Eckhart family in Rotterdam as a top quality designer furniture factory and supplier of woodwork craftsmen for residences, offices and ships.

The company now has gained an international reputation as one of the foremost firms in the interior design industry in Europe.

Besides the many orders of private and business clients, during the last 160 years Eckhart also realized several projects of national importance and royal prestige. Part of this are the furniture, soft furnishings and paneling of the Dutch palaces ‘Noordeinde’, ‘t Loo’ and ‘Soestdijk’.

Eckhart has been rewarded the honorary title of 'preferred supplier to the Royal Court', presented by Her Majesty the Queen of The Netherlands.

During the course of many decades, Eckhart has carefully built up a superb collection of designer furniture based on its long standing relationships with a big variety of famous European designers.
